Free Shoots

Thanks to everyone who emailed me about the free photo shoots. I got multiple responses for a couple of the shoots I needed for my portfolio, but the remaining shoots needed are still listed. For the shoots I did get responses for, I have removed them from the “needed shoots” section and have contacted those who emailed me first about their free shooting.
If you were not contacted about the free shooting and are still interested in having photos taken, my prices are now listed on the side.

Introducing - Carv Photography

Welcome to the Carv Photography blog. My name is Rachelle and I am starting my own photography business. I am in the process of creating my portfolio and am in need of volunteer's to help me do this. On the sidebar, there is a field titled "Needed Shoots", here I will be posting different photo shoots that I need help completing for my portfolio. If you are interested in a free shoot, where you would only need to pay for your prints, please email me at carvphotography@live.com. with your name and which shoot you are interested in. I will contact you and together we will set up the best time. Thank you so much for all of you who have helped thus far.

Details ~

What is a session like?
With your little ones, a photo shoot is a like a play date. I will take the time for your children to warm up to me and the camera and to get a good sampling for you to choose from. The session itself usually takes between one and two hours and is taken at your place of choice. The location can be at a park, your home or the beach. I can also suggest several great locations throughout the Salt Lake and Utah Counties. I find that spontaneous activities often inspire the best portraits. When using natural light, your session may have to be rescheduled if the weather does not cooperate. The session produces at least 25-30 final images for you to view (some will be duplicated in black and white/sepia). I also recommend solid color clothing as opposed to busy prints. White usually isn’t my choice of color. I will be more than happy to make further suggestions if you are uncertain what to have your child(ren) wear. Also, if your child has a favorite book, toy, blanket or stuffed animal, I encourage you to include it in the session. These items help your child feel secure and add personal character to your photos.
After your session is complete, I will take no more than two weeks to prepare your photos. If photos are needed sooner than that, arrangements can be made.

Investment ~

Session Fee: $100

Session fees cover the time and travel for your photo shoot and any editing needed for the photos. This fee is due the day of your shoot.

This fee covers up to 6 people ($5 for each additional person).

3 hour wedding day coverage: $300
$75 for each additional hour

I will create a CD of all the pictures taken (edited and not) with copyright privileges for you to print.
If you would like more than one CD, each additional CD is $5. I am also available for travel outside of the greater Salt Lake City area. Please inquire for details.
